CSI Miami look preset II
Earlier I made a preset called CSI Miami. That preset mostly changed the saturation and color tones in a hard way. This time I made a new version called CSI Miami II (of course
) It consists of three graduated filters, adjustments on white balance and some color tone changes.
You might wanna move the graduated filters (up or down depending on the horizon) to make the effect look good on your photos. Keep in mind that this preset works best on photos like the one in the example below.
By the way… I took this shot in Miami when I was there with my wife on our honeymoon

Dramatic Ocean – For both sky and water
I was sitting here with my old crappy laptop (you can’t even imagine) trying to be creative for a moment. After three crashes I almost gave up but I was to close to my goal…
Recently there was a “great” storm outside and I just had to take a ride out to the ocean to see it in action. I probably took about 150 shots before I went home again.
Actually I wanted to try to make some new HDR images (with three or more images merged) but my tripod was way to cheap to stand against the wind for multiple EV shots. Anyway I still got some nice shots and some that didn’t reached the top-10. Read more
Get that old retro look
I just received an email from Nellka. Included was this preset called “Retro” that I think you should check out. Read more
A preset that make your photos soft and fashionable
Hi there folks!
Lately I’ve been busy with all kinds of stuff except updating PH with new content so I felt it was time to make, at least one, contribution before the week ends. This time I’ve made a preset that will try to simulate a special kind of fashion photos. You know the ones with a soft tone and less contrast? It’s hard to achieve in Lightroom but I think I got pretty close on this one. You should try it out to see if it suites your own shots. Some of mine did pretty well actually.
Make your photos look professional in B&W
Hello dear reader!
This week I visited an old friend of mine. I brought my camera (as always) and took some photos of their lovely kids. The newest member of the family is “Meja”. She was curious about that big camera lens in front of her face. Her head and eyes followed it all the time. Who said it was hard to take photos of kids? hehe Read more
What the eyes can’t see…
Hi all!
Yesterday I was on a seminar about web trends and took some photos. The light in the room wasn’t good enough to take photos without using a flash. Still, I took some test-shots before I turned my flash on and the result was not satisfying at all. In fact, some of the photos was so bad you couldn’t see what was on them. Fortunately I had my external flash with me and was able to take some really nice shots on this day. But, imagine you just had one shot and no flash this time and your photo turned into blackness… Read more
Burn the light into bright
Hi everone! It’s been sometime now since I last updated PH with a preset. I’m sorry about that but I’ve been soo busy planning my upcoming wedding in September. I almost wish someone else could do it for me.
. The most important parts have been solved though and a photographer have been booked! I know I’m going to be so eager to see the photos right away.
Enough about my wedding and let’s focus on my brand new preset. I just call it PH Portrait Brightness because of its edgy and hard contrast effect. See for yourself and enjoy the download! Read more
Let me enhance the beach…
Hi everyone,
It has been some time now and I feel a bit ashamed I haven’t updated you with more presets lately. Obviously I’ve been on a two week trip to Thailand recently which made it impossible (well, almost) to get you some LR candy. I have around 700 photos that are lying on my externad HD right now, photos I’ve taken during this trip. It take some time to “take care” of them but when it’s done I promise I will show you some of them
Right now I’m happy to give you a brand new preset. I call it “Ocean Power“. I made it when I was cleaning up some of my beach shots to enhance to colors and brightness. The photo is one of Read more
A preset that goes dark in black and white
It has been some time now since I published a new preset. I’m sorry about that but I’ve been totally filled up with work and planning. I felt I just had to give you a new preset before the week end. This preset preset is called PH Dark & Light BW. I think it works great on some of my holiday photos. They tend to look more like an old postcard when I apply this preset. Enjoy. Read more
Get the CSI Miami look
This is my first attempt to make some ocean/beach photos look like they were taken from the series CSI Miami. All of you who have seen this series know what I mean. All movie shots from that series have a very warm yellow/green tone with. It’s hard to explain but the before/after images below might give you a clue of what I’m talking about.
This preset has a graduated filter applied as well. Move it to fit your own horizontal and adjust the saturation of it if needed. I use it to basically transform grey skies into blue. Read more
