Naturally BW – The sweetest black and white preset so far
Yesterday, me and my girlfriend was out driving the car when we suddenly saw this cute bull on the side of the road. “STOP THE CAR, I have to take photo of him!”. At first he was a bit careful and reserved but then he slowly walked towards us. I took some snapshots before we went home. Inside of Lightroom later this day, I started to play around with the settings on the photos and came up with a pretty sweet preset that really works well on all my other photos as well. A success like this must be shared to the rest. So here it is; PH Naturally BW…

This is an AWESOME preset! I love the look of how it transforms an image to a stunning black and white. Just one question: How would I go about putting a little brown tint in this? I’m a beginner photog and have tried all sort of ways with other presets.

Hi Shane. Thank you very much!
To add a little brown tint, you expand the “Split Toning” adjustments. Select a Highlight color with the colorpicker or slider and then adjust the saturation for it. Do the same on Shadows if you want to give them a brown touch as well.
Cheers!

Thank You for the preset. It looks great. I will try it out on some photos and let you know. This looks like something I have been looking for. I attempted to try a b/w conversion of my own. Feel free to check out my site and let me know what you think… JEEZOPEEZO.COM

this is an amazing preset! thank you!
One thing though, is there a way to get the effect without going to grayscale?
I ask this, because I have always heard that prints are better if not in grayscale… I guess.. What is the best way to print digital b &w photos? thank you again!

This is a pretty hot preset; I find I use it a lot. It has a slight sepia feel to it which is exactly what I was looking for. Did you modify the Split Tone? This works great for a RAW file, do you have one to modify a JPEG file? I tried, but my preset creating skills haven’t been honed yet.
Thanks again Pierre,
