It’s time to get polaroided.

Even if Polaroid in February 2008 announced they would cease production of all instant film, you still have the possibility to fake it digitally.

Brandon at X-equals has made two new presets that simulates the look of the old classic Polaroid instant film; Polaroid 669 (ISO 80 Color Film). Brandon have contributed with great presets before so I think you should try these out even this time.

The first preset is titled x=polaroid+yellow and brings in the yellow color cast along with a heavily blown out highlights.

The second preset is x=polaroid+cyan and compared to the first preset, this preset gives a cyan/blue color cast.

These two presets are created by 2 graduated filters that can be adjusted more as you wish. For more details about how they work and how to modify them, you should read more at Brandon’s blog

A lovely preset for wedding photography…

The presets keep coming in by mail! Recently I got a new preset from Brandon at x-equals. This preset was, until now, only available to people who signed up to x-equals newsletter. From today it’s exclusively available for download here at presetsheaven. It’s a very elegant and subtle one that works in many situations. For those who are into wedding photography, this preset is a must. Shots of the bride and bouquets – especially close-ups just look terrific! I’ve had the pleasure to be the photographer of two weddings. In this post I have chosen to show you two of my wedding shots as preview images. It really looks great and I strongly recommend you to try this on your photos.

A new preset contribution has arrived – City Scapes

Brandon from x-equals.com is a new contributor to presetsheaven. Today I’m posting a review of his latest preset called “City Scapes“. From my point of view it lightens up those dull images into clear shiny ones. This preset works best on photos that have an average lightness and darkness. If your photos have a bright overall look, the preset most likely will burn out the white areas in them. To be sure this not happen, try decreasing the amount of the exposure adjustments in Lightroom.

A couple tips when using this preset:

This preset uses heavy vignetting and a generous +1.5 exposure shift so start by adjusting Exposure and Vignette in their respective Basic and HSL panels to get the ‘mood‘ just right.

Further fine tuning of both color and tone should be managed via the HSL and Tone Curve
