Fashionable look with a little Lightroom preset

Greetings! I’m sitting here with a cold and have way to many projects going on to actually be making presets for you guys :-) I’m not sure how many times I’ve received mails from people all over asking me how to “get that look” in Lightroom. Most frequent request is the fashion look. You know what I mean… the photos you see in magazines and advertisements with happy people on the beach etc. :-) I’m going to Rome this Sunday so I thought it would be nice to give you a little gift before I leave… Yep, a new preset.

Hi everyone!

I got a mail from Dustin with a link back to his website where I could find some of his presets (free to use). I’ve tried them out and here they are for the rest of you. If you’re looking for that “Fashion look” on your model shots some of them might actually work pretty good.

6 new presets to “wow” your photos

I’ve been sitting here for hours now. Playing around in Lightroom, testing and adjusting before I finally got satisfied. Photoshop have a nice feature called “Curve adjustments” where you can change the color channels (RGB) separately with a few clicks with your mouse. I really wish Lightroom had that feature built in. Anyway, I started this session by doing some curve adjustments in Photoshop. When I was satisfied I tried to accomplish the same result in Lightroom. It’s really not that easy, I can tell for sure. A couple hours of testing and I’m sitting here with 6 new presets. Actually it is a set of three presets with two options each; one with vingettes and one without.

For this specific preset collection I have made a special preview image with more than one example/sooc image. It gives you a better grip of how they work on different photos. I hope you like them.

Dark areas turn into bright and beauty

Taking photos in the sun without a fill-light or reflector often result in dark shadows. To fix this issue you can use the adjustment brush in Lightroom and lighten up those areas or… you can use this preset which also gives another great effect. As you can see it brings a nice overall warm “pinkish” (nice word btw) tone to the photo. To me this kind of style looks more fashionable than the original photo. Just look at the nice enhancement of the reflections in the sunglasses.

A preset that make your photos soft and fashionable

Hi there folks!

Lately I’ve been busy with all kinds of stuff except updating PH with new content so I felt it was time to make, at least one, contribution before the week ends. This time I’ve made a preset that will try to simulate a special kind of fashion photos. You know the ones with a soft tone and less contrast? It’s hard to achieve in Lightroom but I think I got pretty close on this one. You should try it out to see if it suites your own shots. Some of mine did pretty well actually.
