With so many presets to chose from, your Lightroom preset library can easily be filled up quickly. Most of the time you probably only use a couple of your favourite presets, the rest of them just lay there (just in case). I know that many of you download a preset here as soon as I publish it. After all they are free and we humans like free stuff right? :-)

As a professional photographer you want to speed up your work-flow as much as possible without the loss of quality.
I’ve received lots of mail from you asking me for some kind of collection of the best presets available out there. Apparently many of you want to keep your preset library clean with only the presets you can trust giving you a confident result each time.

I’ve been busy like a bee for some time now making this possible for you!

Today I have the great pleasure to present the brand new sister site: Pro Presets

Pro Presets is a service for those of you who work as professional photographer or struggling to be one. The site will offer you different collections of preset to chose from. At the end of the day you won’t need any other presets than these ones!

Some of you are into Wedding photography while some just love Black & White or Portrait photography etc. Because of this widely spread interest, you will be able to find a Lightroom Master Kit that suites your own style and work-flow. We will keep developing new kits to make sure your genre/style is included!

But what’s going to happen with presetsheaven.com then?
Calm down…I will of course continue to publish free presets for the rest of you who don’t want to go PRO!

Sarah-Ji just sent me a contribution including 11 (!) presets. All of them with a theme of autumn colors.

These presets are non-destructive to basic exposure settings for the most part, so you will want to apply the settings AFTER you have corrected things like exposure, fill light, black, brightness and contrast. Check them out…

6 new presets to “wow” your photos

I’ve been sitting here for hours now. Playing around in Lightroom, testing and adjusting before I finally got satisfied. Photoshop have a nice feature called “Curve adjustments” where you can change the color channels (RGB) separately with a few clicks with your mouse. I really wish Lightroom had that feature built in. Anyway, I started this session by doing some curve adjustments in Photoshop. When I was satisfied I tried to accomplish the same result in Lightroom. It’s really not that easy, I can tell for sure. A couple hours of testing and I’m sitting here with 6 new presets. Actually it is a set of three presets with two options each; one with vingettes and one without.

For this specific preset collection I have made a special preview image with more than one example/sooc image. It gives you a better grip of how they work on different photos. I hope you like them.

Oldschool skintone – a pro-preset?

I really like this preset that I recently made. It’s perfect for my wedding shots and works perfect for light photos like the one I use in this example. I will surley use this preset many times for my clients photo albums. It’s so fun to see and hear their positive reactions when they look at something they didn’t expect. Some of my presets gives a more experimental look than professional. I consider this preset to be a pro-preset and hope you really enjoy it.

Make your photos look professional in B&W

Hello dear reader!
This week I visited an old friend of mine. I brought my camera (as always) and took some photos of their lovely kids. The newest member of the family is “Meja”. She was curious about that big camera lens in front of her face. Her head and eyes followed it all the time. Who said it was hard to take photos of kids? hehe

When I looked at the pictures in my camera I got so eager to get home to see them in a bigger format. Back at home I imported them to Lightroom and directly started to play around with them. I think these kind of photos are almost meant to be in black and white. It really makes them beautiful. So I started by applying my popular preset called “Naturally BW” and from there I made some adjustments. The end result became this new preset called “PH Childhood BW”. This one is definitely one of my best presets so far (hopefully one of your favorites too), in fact I think it’s so good that people would actually pay for it ;-)

Just when you thought you had all kinds of black & white presets, these popped up. Nate from wonderlandpresets.com has contributed a lot to Presets Heaven before. I’m sure many of you already have some of his creations in you collection of Lightroom presets. This time he sent me a pack of 6 free black & white presets, exclusively for presetsheaven.com! These are all part of his Wonderland 3.0 collection.

Nate’s goal was to create a quiver of black and white preset options that were not over the top, but still offered some edge.

This is a collection I’ve set up for those of you who are into wedding photography.
Many photographers adds that little extra touch to their wedding photos to bring a special feeling. With Lightroom and a couple of presets you can do the same and make your photos pop out from the rest, within a couple of minutes.

Most of the presets in this wedding kit are new but some of them can be found at my site from previous posts and you might already have downloaded them before, but I’ll make it easy for you all and put them in a new preset package that I prefer to call “PH The Weddings“. Enjoy!

This time I’ll just let others talk about Lightroom. I’ve collected 10 video tutorials from Youtube that might be of interest for some of you. Most of us are so eager to start playing around with new software and stuff (cellphones or TV etc) that we often forget the “other” great features of it. Tonight I got mail from Victor with a preset as attachment in it! Victor wrote “CWP Boost Is a preset that “boosts” the picture, when you want to add more “drama” to it.” I tried it on a photo I took in Denmark when I was on vacation earlier this year. As a before/Sooc photo, this one is perfect to try presets on. Basically all presets make great impact on this specific photo. That includes “CWP Boost” as well.

As you can see it has a pretty strong vignettes effect. So, I decided to include a couple of variations with less vignettes to make this preset more useful on a wider range of photos. Here you go, three presets delivered on a silver plate. :-)

34 free Black & White film presets for Lightroom

Michael is a photographer who is devoted to black and white film. You might have seen some of his work on his flickr page. He posted this collection of presets in the presetsheaven flickr group. Shortly after, he contacted me and said I could post his work here if I liked it. And I did so here it is;. The collection of MikeyGs Black and White Film presets.This is Michael’s first release of this set and he says it’s not complete. I don’t know what he is talking about because it includes 34 (!!) presets already, each one for a different film type look.

The presets are available in two versions, one with auto toning and the other one without.
I just show you a preview of the set without the Auto toning, but of course both versions are included in the zipfile you download.

Naturally BW – The sweetest black and white preset so far

Yesterday, me and my girlfriend was out driving the car when we suddenly saw this cute bull on the side of the road. “STOP THE CAR, I have to take photo of him!”. At first he was a bit careful and reserved but then he slowly walked towards us. I took some snapshots before we went home. Inside of Lightroom later this day, I started to play around with the settings on the photos and came up with a pretty sweet preset that really works well on all my other photos as well. A success like this must be shared to the rest. So here it is; PH Naturally BW…

Cinematic Lightroom preset from japan

Suddenly Ruben said “Hi” in a mail!
He wanted to share some nice presets with us. I had to test them out before I could post them and I must say Ruben did a great job setting them up (thx alot). This set is called the “Cinematic kit for Lightroom”. It’s a semi HDR set with a total of 4 presets. These presets works best on mid-dark images (my conclusion after playing around with them) so that’s the main reason to why I have chosen this kind of preview image this time. Play around with them as I did and you’ll see you’re gonna like them.
