A preset that make your photos soft and fashionable

PH Street FashionHi there folks!

Lately I’ve been busy with all kinds of stuff except updating PH with new content so I felt it was time to make, at least one, contribution before the week ends. This time I’ve made a preset that will try to simulate a special kind of fashion photos. You know the ones with a soft tone and less contrast? It’s hard to achieve in Lightroom but I think I got pretty close on this one. You should try it out to see if it suites your own shots. Some of mine did pretty well actually.

Using a flash (even a pop-up type) for fill up would’ve rendered a better picture in the first place. The preset ist nice as usual, though. :-)

    Indeed Marcus,
Unfortunately the pop-up flash would have hit my lens (Nikon 17-55/2.8) on this shot and create a shadow-ring on the ground. After I’ve applied this preset on the photo I have used the adjustment brush in LR to lighten up the face and dark areas (this is not applied in these example images though) as if it was taken with a soft flash :-)

    Thanks!

Thanks, Pierre, It’s always fun to have another PH preset to play with.

    Thanks for the preset!

A collapsible reflector can do work as fill light, no need for flash. It is lighter, it brings more natural look and if you are too far… you can use your tripod as an assistant :)

Rule number one I think… pop up flashes give a crappy look… always.

Great effect thanks for sharing it! I agree a flash would have worked perfect though!
